All Levels Yoga

Create union between body, mind, and soul through our all levels yoga class. This artfully inspired sequence combines asana to build strength and flexibility, pranayama to balance and quiet the mind, and meditation to open the heart.

Community Yoga Day

Kachmann Community Yoga day invites everyone to connect your mind, body and spirit while uniting with the community. We know that as social beings, humans benefit from turning our sociability to higher ends; combining community with yoga allows us to do just that. The Buddha made the sangha, the spiritual community, one of the three cornerstones of his path because he found that a group practicing together creates a mystical field, a field of grace. The Sanskrit name for this phenomenon is satsang—usually translated as "truth-company," or being in the company of the wise. And satsang, according to several texts of yoga, is one of the great doorways to inner freedom. Join us in our practice of satsang and enjoy kinship, refreshments and chair massage along with the healing benefits of yoga. This class is free and is appropriate for all levels.

Core Yoga

This is a great class for those looking to sculpt their mid-section and get a great workout. Core Yoga involves a series of postures focused on building core strength.
Beginner to intermediate levels.

Gentle Restorative Yoga

All yoga postures in this class are profoundly relaxing and deeply rejuvenating. Restorative Yoga brings about relief to those with chronic back pain, hypertension, migraines, insomnia, range of motion limitations, degenerative disk and many other ailments. Come enjoy the healing effects of Restorative Yoga! All levels

Meditation Class

Meditation is an extremely powerful practice. It has the potential to bring about happiness, healing, relaxation and profound change in negative thought patterns. In this class you will learn to relax fully, release stress, and learn to become of observer of self. Meditation teaches you effective ways of to deal with difficult emotions, such as anger and selfishness, and promotes techniques that develop compassion and love. Meditation is a gift not just for you but for everyone else you interact with each day. Happiness brings about good health and studies show that people who consider themselves happy have one-tenth the rate of serious illness and untimely death compared to those who consider themselves unhappy. Learn walking, laughing, and loving kindness meditations just to name a few. In addition you will learn meditation postures, breath awareness, mindfulness and mantras.

Meditation Series

Meditation –dhyana is the seventh limb of Patanjali’s ashtanga yoga system. Meditation is awareness, self realization and an experience of deep connection to oneself. During this six week workshop you will understand meditation and how to use it in your daily life. You will see the scientific evidence that supports the effects of meditation and know what meditations to use to improve mental and physical energy. Practice includes Kundalini meditations, mudra, pranayama, guided imagery and exploring the chakra system. You will also learn how to use meditation for pain management, stress management and relaxation. No experience required. What should I wear? No special attire necessary, come in comfortable clothing and enjoy.

Mommy & Me Yoga

Ages: Newborn to Nearly Crawling
Learn calming and nurturing yoga postures to support your baby’s development, improve your baby’s sleep, aid in digestion, and enhance bonding. Babies enjoy yoga while on their backs, tummies or held in loving arms of parents. Moms enjoy friendship and support of other moms, while bonding with their new baby. Parents also learn breathing and relaxation techniques while practicing a bit of yoga themselves.
No yoga experience required.

Partners Yoga

Reconnect with your partner. Give and receive relief and total relaxation with partners through a series of yoga poses. Learn how to use hands on adjustments, make your loved one, family or friend feel incredible, and experience yoga like you never have before.Yoga is a form of bonding with the self and the world. Couples Yoga - breathing together, guiding and supporting one another - is a creative and playful journey that connects us to each other in the present moment.

Prenatal Yoga

This class is safe way for expecting mothers to build strength and flexibility. Prenatal Yoga reduces swelling, aids in digestion, and helps mothers prepare physically for giving birth.

Private Yoga

Private yoga sessions are ideal for students looking for personal direction and guidance. Yoga instructors gently guide the student throughout alignment, meditation and hands on stretching. Whether your goal is to gain strength, rid stress or rehabilitate, this session is designed specifically for each individuals need, ability, and interest. All levels.

Therapeutic Community Yoga Class

Often those who are recovering from an illness, or who experience chronic pain, need yoga the most but are overwhelmed by medical expenses. We believe everyone should have an opportunity to experience the wonderful therapeutic benefits of yoga. The Kachmann Mind Body Institute community classes are free to the public we invite you to join us in this loving practice of self-care. Therapeutic Yoga class is a basic chair based class ideal for all levels. No experience necessary come as you are.

Vinyasa Flow

This challenging flowing practice synchronizes movement and breath in a heated room. Plan to sweat away toxins, build strength, sculpt a new body, and clarify the mind. Intermediate to advanced class.

Yoga for Breast Cancer Recovery

This safe yoga-based rehabilitation program meets survivors’ needs at various stages of treatment and recovery. Techniques include therapeutic post-surgery exercises, mindful yoga sequences, restful guided relaxations, and healing breath practices.

Yoga for Kids

Yoga for Kids is a fun, playful class where kids learn to focus their energy and calm their minds. Yoga for kids also builds self-esteem, focus, and concentration. Ages 5-10.

Yoga for the Heart

This yoga program is designed specifically for the health and well-being of heart patients. This program uses a combination of yoga exercises (asanas), breath control (pranayama), sleep control (yoga nidra), and mind control (meditation). Yoga for the Heart enhances heart health, lowers blood pressure, reduces chronic stress, boosts the immune system, and enhances cognitive ability.

Yoga for Weight Loss

This yoga class is structured to aid you in your journey toward successful weight loss. Combining a healthy diet and the practice of Asanas, we will help balance the endocrine system, strengthen the abdominal muscles, stimulate both the nervous and the circulatory system, as well as reduce stress. “So how will we go about doing this exactly?”

Our practice will start with Pranayama (Breath) & move into Sun Salutations to get the blood flowing. Next we will work on balancing poses to center our mind & activate several muscles at one time followed by core/twisting work that will engage our abdominal muscles & massage our inner organs while wringing out any toxins. Finally, we’ll wind down using restorative poses, which balance our energies and chakras. We will then complete our practice with a simple guided meditation, freeing ourselves from any stress while strengthening the mind.

Weight loss can be a journey of ups and downs. The practice of Yoga incorporates all aspects of an individual: the mind, body and spirit, giving a person control over their mind and body and making the effect of weight loss more permanent.

Yoga Fundamentals

Those new to yoga should begin here. Yoga Fundamentals introduces Pranayama, Asana, and Yoga Philosophy to the beginning student. This class allows you to begin familiarizing
yourself with postures and beginning breath work in a safe and friendly environment. A slower pace allows students to learn and enjoy all the benefits of yoga, including reduced tension and stress levels, increased body awareness, and increased muscle endurance. Fundamentals allows time for those who need assistance,modifications, or props.

Yoga Level 2

For the experienced, practicing student. Yoga Level 2 offers a more advanced path for the practicing yogi. With a faster pace, this level requires students to be in good health and to have familiarity with Asana and Pranayama. Expect to gain physical, mental, and spiritual endurance with longer holds, challenging poses, heated practices, and flowing vinyasas along with continued work on pranayama and meditation. **Experienced students with injury can discuss whether attendance is appropriate.

Yoga Potluck Night

One Friday per month we invite students and yoga teachers to practice asana and socialize together. With different themes and teachers each month, this class providesthe opportunity to grow in your practice as well as get to know your fellow yogis. This is a laid back and fun environment for trying more advanced postures, pranayama, and philosophy. Bring your mat, your enthusiasm, and an open heart! If you bring a snack to share, the class is free; without a dish, it's $5.
