Trying Out Unconventional Ways to Exercise

The first is that you can’t find the time to dedicate to a treadmill or elliptical. Or maybe they’ve just gotten a bit old, and you want to take a break. Lastly, fitness equipment can be expensive, and you’re just not sure that it’s worth the expense. If any of these situations apply to you, working out in creative ways could be perfect for you. Let’s take a look at a few ways that you can exercise using the resources you already have or can purchase at a fraction of the cost of home fitness equipment.

Do you have an exercise ball? You can forget doing troublesome crunches or sit-ups if you regularly sit on an exercise ball. You’ll get the same core workout or better. You can use an exercise ball when you’re sitting and checking email at home. If you sit on an exercise ball while you’re watching television, you’ll get a much better workout that you ever would while sitting on the couch. Also, many offices encourage employees to replace their office chair with an exercise ball.

Do you have an infant or toddler? A great way to get exercise is to use or buy a jogging stroller and go walking or running with your children. By pushing the stroller, you’ll get an even better workout than you could get before you had children.

This next tip is not only good for you; it’s also good for the environment. If you live relatively close to your work, consider taking a bike to work instead of sitting in your car or in public transit. Remember to wear a helmet and reflective clothing (or reflectors on your bike) to be safe.

More than high intensity workouts, you’ll find that it’s the little ways you choose to exercise throughout the day that will really make you fit and lose weight. Choose some of these interesting ways to exercise, and you’ll be well on your way to meeting your goals.

    Working on treadmill or other equipments is fine but after a time they become boring. You do not feel the urge to run on the treadmill. A much better way to stay fit is to go for unconventional exercises like the ones you have mentioned here. Even playing a sport of your choice is a good way of exercising and having some fun.

    Some people get bored by exercising alone. They will get good results if they exercise with a group of friends. You can form a group and go out for walks every morning or even join a gym. You can keep yourself motivated by seeing others and have a good time.
