Creating Hope
Art Program for Cancer Survivors
From sketches of cave bears to children's drawings on the refrigerator, art has always been an integral part of humanity. Art provides an outlet for our inner thoughts and feelings while giving us a sense of control over our surroundings. Those with a serious illness have often found that art allows them to express themselves in nonverbal ways. This often allows strong emotions to be released in a way that is far better than words.

Mandala Art
Swiss psychiatrist, Carl Jung, utilized mandalas as a “magic circle” in which his patients would depict images from dreams. “Mandala” is Sanskrit for “circle” and is traditionally used to describe the Hindu Yantras. Many cultures throughout time, and all over the Earth, have honored the form of the circle as representing the natural world and the concept of time (ever-turning wheel of the years/seasons). Discover the therapeutic benefits of creating your own Mandala Art in this wonderfully creative workshop. |
